A galaxy projector turns a plain bedroom ceiling into a starry night sky. They are popular for kids' rooms, game rooms and relaxing at the end of the day, and they make an easy holiday gift. Here is what to look for before you buy one.
What Does a Galaxy Projector Do?
A galaxy or star projector shines light through a lens or film disc to project stars, nebula clouds and color patterns onto your walls and ceiling. Many models add a timer, color modes and moving effects.
Features to Look For
- Timer: lets the projector switch off by itself after you or your child falls asleep.
- Interchangeable film discs: swap between galaxies, planets and other scenes.
- Color and brightness control: dim it for sleep or turn it up for a party.
- Moving effects: rotating projections or meteor effects add motion to the scene.
- Adjustable focus: keeps the image sharp at different distances from the ceiling.
